Beer sales in Karnataka decrease as illegal sales of non duty paid liquor increase

Posted on March 16 by admin

A case contains 12 bottles of 750 ml liquor
In Karnataka there has been a decrease in the official sales of IML and beer in 2017 compared to the previous year according to media reports, based on excise department data
This is because of the non duty paid (NDP) liquor smuggled into Karnataka mainly from Goa according to media reports
Excise duty of Rs 50 per liter does not have to be paid
So a 750 ml whisky bottle costs Rs 1000, and NDP will cost Rs 500-700
Many of the visitors to goa are from Karnataka , based on number plate of vehicles parked outside hotels
